Eye Contact is one of two winners of a competition to design a window display for the Wellcome Trust on Euston Road. The context is the ‘changing perception of images’.The display will be installed July 2014 and run for a year.
As social animals humans have evolved to recognise and read eyes, from which we pick up hundreds of cues to emotion and intention. We are pre-built to identify eyes. Exploring this innate skill and whilst at the same time, responding
to the surrounding architecture, two large pairs of pixellated eyes will fill the windows. Each pixel is individually controlled, producing a large scale video display made from light boxes.
